Cubes of souse sprinkled in vinegar
pickled eggs & beets
scotch eggs
liverwurst on rye melba toast
lot's of beer
what would you serve as a substantial snack food for mid-afternoon?.
i am not looking for anything formal like tea and crumpets.. i am not looking for prissy stuff like raw carrot sticks.. i am not looking for something expensive like fancy wine and cheese.. not looking for anything really really sweet, either.. .
i am looking for man-food....like maybe something that would go with deviled eggs.

Thin slice of hard salami, smeared with a mixture of poupon mustard & cream cheese. Lay a pencil thick slice or 2 ,of red or green bell pepper on and roll up. Peppers have been cheap here lately!

i thought rather than everyone start their own topic relating their experience of attending the memorial, we keep it simple and have just one thread.
if anything, it's saves bandwidth.. i will be going to the memorial tonight and will post my experiences afterwards.. all the other memorials i attended, i was an active jw, so this will be my first experience as a submarine witness.
it's weird being on the other side so to speak.
I went to a memorial service at a Christian church.
Didn't have to shop for special clothes $$$, paid the appliance repair man cash no credit.
Wasted no time shopping all over trying to find apropriate outfits for teens, I am rested and had a home cooked meal.
My being able to accept Christ's sacrifice and partaking of the emblems, so much more than an "undeserved kindness".

Not as a Jw, but I have several experiences in the past months.
Holy Spirit is now a part of me.It is the great helper.

Snowed all day, more coming Friday.
It started on October 3rd here, I've had enough. The poles may be thawing but global warming is not happening here!
Loved the picture, and the post on his grim demise. Making plans for nest winter's front yard display.

i'll wager $1,000,000 us dollars that you can not accurately predict the gender of the us president for the 2098 elections.
any takers?
.
How about if we guess the names of the new countries that will replace the USA? or the type of government they will have? I read an article about this but can't remember all the details.
I think I'll be living in Attitudia under a fascist government. Cartels , mafia etc seem to do well in these type govs.
I used to live in Newzona.Any takers?

as reported elsewhere on the forum, there were 12 ex-jws at our baptism service yesterday.
twelve.. it was quite an experience to hear about an ex-jw who had moved to another part of the country and had written down 150 names of jws in the area of glasgow she was originally from and had started praying for all those names last summer.
two of the people on her list were at the church yesterday, with their wives and children.
Wonderful news!

I've had horse , it's very good. I used to live out west and knew folks who would have gladly taken a horse home to butcher, had it been aloud. There was also food banks willing to take horses and pay for them to be humanely slaughtered.
